In this short lesson, we introduce the Arabic letter Tā (ت), covering its pronunciation, articulation point (makhraj), and written forms.
Tā (ت) is the third letter of the Arabic alphabet. It is pronounced similarly to the English "t" in "stop". The sound is produced by placing the tip of the tongue against the upper front teeth or the area immediately behind them.
**Written forms of Tā:**
- Isolated: ت
- Initial: تـ
- Medial: ـتـ
- Final: ـت
**Examples:**
- تَمْرٌ (tamrun) — Dates
- تُرَابٌ (turābun) — Soil, dust
- كِتَابٌ (kitābun) — Book
- بَيْتٌ (baytun) — House
Through these short lessons, we study Arabic letters, their sounds, articulation points, and writing forms as a foundation for reading and understanding the Holy Quran in its original Arabic.
