In a post-apocalyptic world where monsters have wiped out 95% of humanity and can't be killed by guns or fire, survivors must stay above the 8,000-foot safe line. When a monster attacks, three survivors—Katie, Nina, and Will—try to escape via cable car. Katie repeatedly changes her strategy, climbing a support tower to jump onto the car. Will grabs her hand but can't pull her up. The monster shakes the cable; a pulley comes off, and all three fall. They sprint uphill with the monster closing in and, at the last second, cross the 8,000-foot safe line that decides life or death.
