I think ‘we’ should forget, which you can forget easily and move on your daily life. but people back then couldn’t, being mistreated because of their culture and traditions. it’s not something a person can move on easily, and not everyone should forgive just because someone apologised.

for example, if a person bullied another and committed many horrifying acts to them, then apologised, it does not mean the person who got hurt from their actions has to accept their apology. if she apologised to be forgiven, then that’s not really considered an apology at all. an apology is sincere out of heart, and they actually mean it. but it does not have to be forgiven, as the person is still hurt and a ‘sorry’ doesn’t fix anything. i hope you understand, but we shouldn’t attack anyone. im not saying to attack her or anything, but it does not mean she has to be forgiven for something she did that genuinely hurt people. she can move on and understand her actions hurt people, accept it and be a better person from then on. an action cannot be erased, whether good or bad. hope you understood! 🤍
