movie name：Astro Boy 2009

I remember when my chicken Brownie d!ed. My family wanted to get two more chicks of her same breed a few weeks later. When I found out that we were getting adults (same age as Brownie was)… I cried because I thought they were trying to replace her. My mom’s explanation was simply “It’s just so it doesn’t feel like she’s missing.” This movie… is exactly why you don’t replace your loved ones. They’ll never be like the one who’s long gone. 💔

The movie is based on a Japanese manga, who is known as Mighty Atom. In the story, Dr Tenma loses his son in a traffic accident and built the robot to replace him giving him human-like emotions, later realizing the robot cannot age or replace Tobio, Dr Tenma rejects him. The robot was later adopted by Professor Ochanomizu, who names him Atom (Astro Boy).

@Spr1ngl0ck3d-u1n, I never read the manga, just watched the movie. Also, there was this episode from a web series called Death Battle that put him and Mega Man in a death match. The only thing I remember from that episode was a picture from the manga of someone putting fuel in him like refueling a car gas tank except the goddamn hole to insert the fuel was literally in his a$$. I’m sorry about my bad language. It was several years since I saw that episode and I had to find the image of the refuel process from the manga to confirm that I didn’t make that up, and now I have to literally repurge the image from my brain. Look up the photo to see for yourself.

This is the 2009 3D animated film Astro Boy.

The manga was created in the 1950s, his Japanese name is Tetsuwan Atomu (Mighty Atom) then they created an anime tv series, which was made in the 1960s, then another in 1980s, then 2003.

Just a little fun fact. 😗

The original 1963 Astro Boy, Toby which was called Tobio in the original story, died in a car crash. I think this new movie wants the father to be more responsible for Toby‘s death. I’m guessing the movie wants the father to be more emotional about the death than in the original.

Not to sound grim or anything, but even if being vaporized or atomized is more brutal than a simple traffic accident, the latter is still far more impactful because of how much closer to home it is.

Maybe that’s why this film didn’t go that direction for Tobio’s death.

@alpha_jasperflair1097YouTube

@darkchocolate2210 its the dad's neglectful behavior that he forgot who his son really is, or its also built from his expectations, especially since he was a strict father. In the manga and anime he was more strict and controlling, everything that he did to his real son Toby that was a mistake was done again on a replica of Toby. Hes basically not learning and letting his son feel seen or heard.
