I agree the floating lantern scene HAS to be in the movie but they will have to do this in the studio and blend real location with green screen because they’re illegal in a lot of european countries like Spain and Germany

Btw I'm not saying they aren't similar and they didn't do a good job I'm just saying those totally aren't the same. I like both the only thing I wish is that they would've kept the lacing in the design of her live action dress. And there's lacing but not like a corset but the bodice has the structure of a corset so it's a bit odd to me. I always loved the corset and lacing in the movie tho for its reasoning. In the purple dress the lacing is in the front while usually corsets lace in the back because she's alone and has to be able to lace it herself. When she gets married her corset changes to lacing in the back because now she doesn't have to do it herself
Edit: forgot to mention but they probably won't show us that scene until the movie. It's a big scene in the movie and I have a feeling they'll make is wait so it's the big "oooo ahhhhh" scene for everyone in the theaters and online when people are talking about it.

I would say that scene maybe green screen as doing water scenes on stage can be easier especially when the whole shot will have to be filled with CGI lanterns they wouldn’t be able to pull it off in real life without CGI so you probably won’t be seeing any of that

I know people have said the whole corset being laced in the front thing bc she's alone online but that actually isn't a corset it's simply a front lacing bodice! firstly when this film was set corsets were undergarments (like a bra) so would not be visible. Also the explanation for her change in costume is actually just a historically accurate depiction of what she would've worn at the time. Commoners wore front lacing gowns/bodices and noble people or royalty wore ones that would lace at the back because they typically had staff who would help dress them - something commoners did not usually have access to so they wore clothing they could dress themselves in daily. Sorry if it feels like I'm lecturing you btw I'm just into fashion and it's history and I've seen this rumour spread online but it doesn't really hold much merit so I wanted to provide info if possible!! (though I do agree it should be front lacing for atleast historical accuracy)
