كَـ = “Like” This Tiny Arabic Word Explained

In Arabic, كَـ is a small particle that can completely change the meaning of the word that follows it.

أَسَدٌ → a lion
كَالْأَسَدِ → like a lion

You’ll often see كَـ attached directly to the next word:

كَالْأَسَدِ → like a lion
كَالْبَحْرِ → like the sea
كَالْجَبَلِ → like a mountain

So when you see كَـ before a word, remember: “like.”
