Movies like RRR were hit in the west only because it had a colonial plot otherwise people outside won't watch our movies....even the majority of people in the west watched the movie RRR in ott....
It should be Indian Cinema to compare at Hollywood level.
And i write a screenplay of my story name the silent obsession 🥀
I try to convince the production house but ........
Dhurandhar don't deserve this box office

Bollywood ek single industry hai jo all india chalta hai
And the sad part is that it's happening since ages.

We are not a small industry, but we are limited in producing super hits; that's to be expected and is obvious, but the time and resources spent of mid/ bad movies are just as bad.

And the biggest thing is, they experiment. And before someone brings up the “budget” argument, we are capable of doing many things in a much more cost-effective way. Hollywood simply enhances the viewing experience through the use of CGI and VFX.
Most importantly, they keep experimenting with different genres, whether it's superhero, thriller, sci-fi, comedy, dystopian, action, etc. The actors too don't shy away from stepping out of their comfort zones. Talented actors are given opportunities, and even if it's their first film, they can become an overnight sensation and eventually become stars. If you have the talent, you can make it.
But in Bollywood, we are divided between languages, cultures, stories and ideologies. And above all, the superiority complex of Indian actors, or rather, stars, is way above the directors.
And then we have the Indian audience, which is the cherry on top. We praise Hollywood movies and watch them in theatres, but when India tries something new and original, people don't watch it because there is no star in it.
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, arguably one of the best superhero films to come out of Bollywood, failed at the box office.
We are also heavily dependent on mythological stories and religious movies because there is already a devoted audience that will come to watch them. Hanuman Ansh is one example of this.
Kalki 2898 AD, Kantara, Hanuman Ansh, Hanuman, Brahmāstra, etc. are primary examples.
Even a flop like Adipurush earned ₹350+ crore worldwide.
But we need to excel in other genres too. We need to experiment with completely different kinds of stories, like:
Hard sci-fi, where actual science and physics are explored, like Interstellar or The Martian.
Cyberpunk and dystopian worlds, apart from Kalki 2898 AD and Ganapath.
Archaeological treasure-hunt movies, like Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider.
We have so much more to offer.
The Indian film industry doesn't want to evolve and change. They aren't even trying enough to go in that direction. It's mostly about making easy money with movies like Housefull, Golmaal, Singham, Jawan, Stree, etc.
We have much more than that.
Production department mein ya singing mein. Ya background mein jo bhi ho. Sab jaga se log aate hai movie mein,toh overall hi hua hai.
Aise bolo. Indian Cinema.
For example - Highest grossing movies of 2025, none of them excites me more than Dhurandhar but still they earned more because of better networking, distribution, dubbing, marketing and higher quality of audience, not because they were better.
Plus most of the movies are shot in English which has 2 billion + NATIVE speakers. And in India 1.5 people who are further divided in other langauges plus we are poor to watch movies and pay high prices for cinemas.
Hollywood ki chatna band kar
Hanuman ansh I saw yesterday what a movie , jitni taarif karo utni kum hai. A1 kind of movie it is.
And then there were kgf, rrr, pushpa, kantara who tried to exceed or atleast coem to a similar level as them
And now dhurandhar has set another benchmark for comercial films and it will take time for filmakers to adapt to those standards
Hollywood on the other hand has achieved a certain level of prowess yet it has remained stagnant for a while with films just being made as nostalgia bait or book/game adaptations
While india pretty much never tries adapting sny books

5 films ne 1 billion dollar Kiya , Mario Galaxy, Michael, Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Spiderman brand new day
Isme se Spiderman ne to 2 billion dollars Kiya
Aur Iske Alava bohot sare hits Hai, Obsession, Backrooms, Project Hail Mary, Devil Wears Prada 2, Scream 7, Insidious 6, Minions and Monsters etc
And Hollywood sequels are great, not cashgrab
Par india me movie ko aise boycott karte he ki hero ne unke ghar ka rashan chura liya ho. That's a dark reality about indian cinema.
