Patty Uses a Cobra Maneuver to Reverse the Dogfight | Fighter (movie)

The helicopter defense has already been breached when Nauty announces that Minni has been caught and that Sukhi is the next target.

Patty tells Taj that he has another aircraft within range.

He orders Taj to protect Sukhi while he continues pursuing Rocky.

Rocky’s rear-seat crew member suddenly reports that Patty is attempting to establish a missile lock.

Rocky immediately dives hard to the right.

The maneuver breaks Patty’s pursuit and allows Rocky to circle around behind him.

The positions of the two fighters are now completely reversed.

Rocky begins closing in from Patty’s rear.

Patty’s rear-seat partner, Unni, repeatedly warns him that the opposing aircraft is getting closer to completing a lock.

Patty remains in position and waits until Rocky is directly behind him.

At the critical moment, Patty suddenly pulls the nose of his fighter sharply upward and performs a Cobra maneuver.

The rapid change in speed and attitude causes Rocky’s aircraft to overshoot and fly past him.

Patty immediately recovers the fighter and turns back toward Rocky.

With the positions reversed again, Patty brings Rocky into his targeting system and establishes a lock.

The maneuver gives Patty the advantage in the training engagement.
