Shouting Match Erupts Between Ben-Gvir and Arab Lawmakers Over Election Candidate Ban | VERTEX

A heated confrontation erupted at Israel’s Knesset between National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and opposition lawmakers Ahmad Tibi and Ofer Cassif during proceedings over a petition to disqualify Balad chairman Sami Abu Shehadeh from the October 27 election. Footage shows the politicians exchanging shouts and personal insults outside the hearing. Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party accused Abu Shehadeh of supporting armed struggle against Israel, an allegation he denies. The Central Elections Committee voted 31 to four to disqualify Abu Shehadeh and separately barred Cassif and the Joint List. The decisions are now being challenged before Israel’s Supreme Court. #israel #itamarbengvir #knesset #israelipolitics #middleeast
