Damn....I never considered that. Guess this is what it looks like when actual effort is put into storytelling. I wonder if this was solely the costume designer's idea or if the director had some influence on it.

What I think is fun about Cher is that with other characters this would be subtext, little unconscious choices. But I genuinely feel like she’s making deliberate decisions with her outfits and I feel like that adds another layer to her character. Just how open and dramatic she is with her feelings, how she wants everyone to know exactly what she’s feeling today.

I absolutely agree! Excellent analysis and yea it’s crazy how costumes in a movie really change and curate the mood and add so much to character development. And Cher’s outfits will forever be so iconic, they were a big part of the success of the film!
