I actually like this better than Silence. More entertaining.

One bad casting decision. Juliana Moore came across as a soccer mom lost on a movie set.

worst book i have ever read. worst. and the author knew it. Scott hasn't made a good movie since Thelma and Louise

The funny thing to me is I AGREE! And to me it makes everything else seem so brilliant because they delivered a masterpiece if you could ignore the damn soccer mom on screen. (I never used that term about her but I will now. Perfect fit.)

It's a fantastic book that Scott seemingly didn't get.
First, could they NOT get the rights to the Macarena? That detail made the FBI raid in the book so nerve-wracking, an intensely serious moment accompanied by one of the most cloying pieces of music ever. Genius.
Second, Florence is excruciatingly beautiful and historic. That's why Hannibal is there and that's how Clarice finds him. The film should have caused this reaction, "Wow that was creepy as f, and Florence looks gorgeous. Should we go there on our next vacation?" Hannibal should have looked like Room With a View, not The Nightmare on Elm Street.

She had to go her own way. I thought she was good. I feel Clarice had to change anyway after Silence.
