Two horror-movie sea spiders, new to science #seaspider #ocean #science

Scuba dives in the Salish Sea collected more than 150 sea spiders, and their body features and DNA showed two species nobody had described. One has ruby eyes and hairy legs; the other can't groom itself and is often covered in dirt and parasites. Both are about a third of an inch across or smaller, and new sea spiders can be hard to tell apart, since they often look alike.
