عَفْوًا، أَيْنَ الحَمَّامُ؟ — ʿafwan, ayna l-ḥammām? — Excuse me, where's the bathroom?
هُنَاكَ، عَلَى اليَمِينِ. — hunāka, ʿalā l-yamīn — Over there, on the right.
شُكْرًا جَزِيلًا! — shukran jazīlan! — Thank you very much!
عَفْوًا! — ʿafwan! — You're welcome!
Tip: ʿafwan works both ways, "excuse me" before you ask and "you're welcome" after you're thanked.
