Some Movies Don't Tell Time. They Bend It. #shorts #christophernolan

Christopher Nolan gets the credit.
But he's not the only one who figured it out.
Memento runs backwards because the character can't move forward.
The Usual Suspects makes you rethink every scene you just watched.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind uses time to show you how memory actually works.
City of God tells three timelines at once because that's how survival actually feels.
Tarantino doesn't follow time at all -- he just puts scenes where they feel right.
These directors aren't playing with structure for the sake of it.
They all figured out the same thing... that time is the setting and the story.
