Why? Diego gived up all his sources and Goerge became big because of it. What did Diego get in return? Nothing. No wonder he acted out of spite after getting the connection from Goerge. Diego was a good partner and partners establish a relationship by trust. But if theres only trust from 1 side its over... so good on Diego for back stabbing Goerge in the back.

Best part about it, when Derrek got caught in real life he set up Diego, I can't rmemever their real names. But Diego's down fall was because of the connection he needed to have. George should have just gotten rid of him, he literally did nothing. George did everything, also George would have been better off without the coke, he was still making a ton of money. Look they all ended up in jail with nothing and died broken men.

The problem was George didn't have any enforcers or protection, he rolled solo.
At that point Deigo had numbers, a cartel and after experiencing a drug-related health scare and the birth of his daughter, George chose to step back and distance himself from the cocaine trade rather than wage a war of vengeance.

But he should have let Pablo take him out from the start, he could have had him set up and arrested but whos to say he wouldn't snitch.

And ridiculous! Greed always gets them, gotta have a exit plan, 5-10 years and thats it.

You really believe that George didn't have protection? This movie glosses over a number of fact, but yes George could have set him up a number of different ways. "Derrick" could have been anyone, Diego didn't know Derrick.

When you are in that deep you know some shady characters who will have your back for a bit of cash, after Diego got George shot, he should have set him up. Diego goes missing and the cartel ends up infighting for control of the next boss.

Yes he did, that was all a test... Pablo knew Diego and was testing Jorge on his loyalty to Diego. If Jorge said he'd work without him, he would have just shot Jorge and just dealt with Diego.
