Ancient Egypt's Pregnancy Test: Pee on Seeds 🌾
4 مشاهدة · 2026/10/16
What would your life look like if you were born in ancient Egypt, 4,500 years ago? 🏺
🌾 Before you're born: your mom pees on wheat and barley seeds. If they sprout, she's pregnant. (In a 1963 test, it actually worked about 70% of the time!)
📜 Your name isn't just a name. Egyptians believed it was part of your soul.
👦 Your head is shaved, except for one braid: the "sidelock of youth".
🐈 Your best friend is a cat, sacred to the goddess Bastet.
🍞 Your bread is so full of sand and grit that it grinds your teeth down.
🍺 And you drink beer every day, even as a kid. It's thick, low in alcohol, and counts as food.
🌊 Every summer the Nile floods your farm, so the Pharaoh gives you a new job…
🔺 Building the Great Pyramid: about 2.3 million stone blocks, each ~2.5 tonnes.
💰 You're NOT a slave. You're paid in bread and beer. Break a bone? Doctors set it.
👁️ Everyone wears eyeliner. Men too.
⚖️ Women can own land, divorce, and run businesses.
✍️ But only about 1 in 100 people can read.
⚰️ You die at about 35. Embalmers pull out your brain through your nose. 70 days later, you're a mummy.
❤️ The final test: your heart is weighed against a feather. Too heavy, and a monster eats it.
And the pyramid you helped build? Still standing, 4,500 years later.
Would YOU survive ancient Egypt? Comment YES or NO 👇
