Is 2026 the Greatest Horror Movie Year of the 21st Century?!

Is 2026 one of the greatest years in horror movie history?

With movies like Resident Evil, Obsession, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Send Help, Backrooms, Hokum, and Ready or Not 2, horror fans have had a ridiculous amount to watch this year.

But quantity doesn’t always mean quality.

I’ve watched ten of this year’s major horror releases, and while I’ve loved some of them, others have been pretty disappointing.

So how does 2026 compare to legendary horror years?

2025 gave us Sinners, Weapons, Bring Her Back, Final Destination Bloodlines, and 28 Years Later.

2022 delivered Barbarian, X, Pearl, Nope, Smile, and The Black Phone.

And 1987 gave us The Lost Boys, Evil Dead II, Hellraiser, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, and Near Dark.

This is a spoiler-free discussion!

Which year had the best horror movies? And which films from 2026 do you think people will still be talking about twenty years from now?

Go watch something awesome.
