A Modern Guy on a Pyramid Construction Crew (Paid in Beer?)

Deep inside the Great Pyramid, there’s graffiti left by the people who built it, and it tells a very different story from the movies. 🏺🍺

In this Short:
✅ Why the pyramid builders weren’t slaves
✅ What their pay actually was (bread… and beer)
✅ The workers’ bakeries archaeologists found near Giza
✅ The crew graffiti hidden inside the pyramid, like “Friends of Khufu”

📚 Sources and notes:

Excavations of the Giza workers’ town (bakeries, rations, worker tombs) by Mark Lehner, Zahi Hawass and AERA
Ancient ration records list bread and beer for royal work crews
Crew-name graffiti is found in the relieving chambers above the King’s Chamber
Many builders were conscripted laborers (a labor duty), not slaves
Scenes are artistic illustrations, simplified for a short video

I left out the “does not guarantee views or income” disclaimer on purpose. As I mentioned when we reviewed your Shorts, that line is meant for creators and looks out of place to viewers. I also didn’t include any “[Add your…]” placeholders, so this is ready to paste as is.
