This is what ancient Egyptian embalmers actually did, according to the Greek historian Herodotus:
🪝 A long iron hook goes up the nose to remove the brain
🗑️ The brain gets thrown away (Egyptians thought it was just stuffing)
🏺 The liver, lungs, stomach and intestines go into jars
❤️ The heart stays inside, because they believed it was where thinking happened
🧂 The body is buried in natron salt for 40 days (the whole process took about 70 days)
Brain: trash. Heart: VIP. Priorities were weird.
