Look up "dog meat trade" and I promise you'd never want another in America.
THE NAME OF THE HISTORY ITS THE SAME, WHITE FANG.
The entire story was the wolf was famous for never getting knocked over
Then the pit bit and never let go, didn't get knocked over just layed down on his stomach ready to die.
Then after saved and moving in with the pilgrim a female wolf comes and he gets knocked over 3 times.
Then they have puppies. Ofc there's way more to it but was a great book. Written from the dogs perspective.
White Fang is a timeless masterpiece
When I first got my last one, (he had done registered name Cloud Thunder Storm or such, I don't remember, he was about 14-16 months old and when I asked the woman who GAVE him to me if she'd ever had a large breed dog, she answered with CHOW CHOW! I busted laughing and told her, 'You got played'), I called him WOO-WOO PUPPY. At that time he was only 120 or so, that's why I asked his age.
Not yet a year and half means he's basically that tall and that long, but she's still got to 22-24 months to be 'Fullgrown', and start bulking up.
162 lbs, you could hear him howl a quarter mile away, he taught the neighbors dachshunds to howl, which was funny and was my darling.
But when I got him, the 3rd day, my 11 year old, 75 lb daughter is walking him from our place at the road along the neighbor on one side of us privacy fence and down the hill, over and around the trailer park(8-10 trailers; rural Alabama) and back up along is drive on the far side and back along the road into our chain link fence.
She looked confused and told me(which I'd seen everyone come pouring out to watch and she paused at the trailer where there was a Hispanic family who lived there, their daughter was her age and they were friends, but there was one that she paused when he said something and then laughed, and gestured towards our place, but she said he asked WHAT WILL YOUR MOTHER SELL THE DOG FOR? and that she told him that we'd gotten him for her Papa Dab, since the old man couldn't hear and didn't want prowlers and he said TELL HER, NAME PRICE, I DOUBLE.
She asked why. Well, because even neutered, the dog in this movie isn't but about the 125 lbs, the St Bernard 140 lbs, and people who fight dogs know it doesn't matter a thing about the dogs, but these were bred by Inuit to drag whale corpses and fight off Timber wolves and Polar Bears and they'd done it long enough and we'll enough that the breed wasn't lupine, but canine and that's centuries too millennia of the dogs surviving those encounters.
OH.
If he asks again, tell him your Mom says HE WILL NEVER BE SOLD, THOUGH IT'S TEMPTING TO NAME A PRICE TO SEE IF YOU WOULD DOUBLE, BUT SOME THINGS CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR BARTERED, AND THE FIRST IS BLOOD. THE DOG WAS NOW FAMILY JUST LIKE HER AND PAPA DAB.
She told me later, he smiled and nodded and said something about a proud woman, but he told me later he'd said I was a woman to be proud of, to know true value.
We never had any trouble until the girl's family moved. He was her uncle.
PS: theovie is called white fang
The movie hurt my heart in a way I can’t even describe💔🥺
May God guide us All.
In the animation, the indigenous chief & owner of the White Fang had to sell him to recover the money he'd use to pay for his land & prevent his tribe from being expelled from there. The man who bought White Fang ordered someone to hit the wolf-dog with a walking stick to "educate" him.
It's a very tense & heavy scene. I felt so powerless.
