I wish that they had kept in her losing her mind as Peeta was taken away from her after being pulled from the arena. They had rush him off to keep him from bleeding to death, and put a glass wall between Katniss and Peeta and the medical team, and Katniss was WAILING on that glass trying to get back to him.

Thats not what they’re saying. This is about at the end of the first book, showing how the games affected them even after they won. The end result is the same but it shows more of how the games affected the victors.

They do get to be happy at the end of the last book/film. This post is talking about the first book and how a vital part of the story was left out of the film adaptation. The book describes how damaged they are, both physically and mentally, how they're shells of their former selves and are utterly traumatised.
The film also doesn't include the fact the wolves that attack them are actually the dead tributes, each one's fur the same colour and texture as the tributes hair and that they have human eyes,or the fact that they have collars with the district number on. By choosing to leave this out, people who have only watched the films don't get to understand just how horrifying the Capitol is, how low they're willing to stoop. Not only are they sending children to starve and fight to the death, they willingly traumatise them further by making them fight the other dead children all over again, through vicious mutated creatures.

I wish that they kept katniss mentally breaking down after being imprisoned after killing coin. Would have loved to see the lucy gray and lenore dove connections to the songs and honestly wish they kept how when peeta comes back to 12, she hasn't showered in ages and that as soon as he is back, she showers, burns her dirty clothes and trims her nails. Also lowkey wish they kept Flavius, Octavia and Venia bc those guys were iconic in the books.

they still could have had her look ‘mad’ ( like her hair, costuming, face, etc. ). though i do love her sentiment on not losing weight for this movie.

Also she was supposed to be covered in burn scars from the bombing with matted hair from not cleaning herself for a long time

Like the source material, yes. Usually people who have read the books want the full story in the adaptation.

I mean, some things are just easier written than acted, e.g. weight loss. I'm actually glad they didn't make the actors go through that, because it's very unhealthy (mentally and physically).
But some special effects could have been done or at least make up or different acting/scene choices.
