Critical Drinker DESTROYS Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey | Daily Expresso #movies

Black face movie...
Cultural appropriation ...

Just because a movie is financially successful or not doesn't mark its artistic merit. Avatar made billions, and it was garbage. Other movies make little or nothing like One Battle After Another, ot lost $150 million, win Oscars, still a dud though.

@jimbrown2688 thanks for proving me right. Stay mad okay chump

"The haters are coping" no honey, this movie don't have haters, isn't good enough for that, drinker and pretty much anyone that watched said it was fine, just a meh movie😅

@Marco88-x6q honey do you live in the same universe as the rest of us? Prior to its release the hate is real from so many youtubers and culture warriors it's embarrassing. That's why after the amazing criticial reception and then the mega success at the box office all these haters keep moving goalpost to this day. So yes the cope is real and i love it 😂

Different stories

The Odyssey from the 90s with Armand Assante is great. Fun, exotic with a awsome cast. Not so bleak, boring and overproduced

Actually in all of his videos he said movie might end up being good. Movie was definitely not the best, it was good movie if you can ignore modern language, bleak environment, mixing of historical periods...

Tell me you just look at the thumbnails for his videos and don't actually watch them lol. He's been saying for a long time that the movie will make money and probably be decent to good....its ok to talk about negative parts of a movie and still think the movie isn't complete trash

@Lightswitch002 I mean his videos were pretty cowardly...98% of the videos were red meat and than did a quick CYA at the end to appear"fair" by saying the movie would be fine and make 800 million...BTW he got that quite wrong

@zachhoward3794 Add another billion to it. He wasn't quite wrong. He was spitting words from a galaxy far far away......

It was boring left halfway through

That is your opinion

Hahahaah Dune???? 😂😂😂

Its was horrible, you have no taste in movies.

@chucknade4507 Wonderful movie. I dont care your opinion

He literally said it would likely be a success you retard

Exactly. That’s what my dad said “he has a type. He casts big names and it’s like an event. He takes on these big stories and in the end you’re left wanting more. The sound is always terrible too.” He spends a shit load of money on needless shit. Refuses to do CGI when he could really use it in just a scene here and there. It’s a Nolan movie. Idek what else to say. It’s bland at this point as all but two of his films feel fairly identical.

It’s because he refuses to do grand scale CGI. My dad and I went opening weekend to a normal theater. Well, I snagged real IMAX 70mm tickets and my date backed out last minute so I took Dad. He said “that’s the proper way to watch the film but the film is so boring on a rewatch it makes me wish we had just saw it like this.” And that’s the issue. Nolan films for IMAX but doesn’t tell the story as needed for IMAX. A story of what should be a grand scale is reduced most often to expensive actors chatting. Whether that be in a castle, on a beach or on a boat. However the best two scenes in the film is Menelaus’s telling of the event as we see Odysseus drop the fire then open the door. Sick. Then at the end when he’s telling his wife what he did and how it changed him. That was really good. The stories of granger are smaller but are what should make the film feel big. Some actually miss what made them important.

My dad said “they changed a lot of things from the original.” Meanwhile my brother who’s not a reader or enjoyer of history loved the movie. Dad and I , who know the real story in a few different translations gave it a 6/10 as a modern Hollywood retelling.

@Batmanrocks-i5x he does do CGI. He just doesn't prioritise it and it's for the better like that.

They didn't slaughter it. Quit overreacting.

@InsaneJack18 so... He was backtracking to avoid things blowing up in his face like he always does.

@Another_Random_Individual I’m aware that he uses it to such a small scale it’s hardly worth noting. As for a book about larger than life Gods and monsters maybe he should use CGI more. The Gods were completely wiped away from the script. To the point Athena became a PTSD fever dream.

@Batmanrocks-i5x he actually used a lot of CGI. It's just blended together perfectly to where it's barely noticeable. That's how Nolan movies are.

He literally never said that a single time. He said over and over again that it was probably gonna be pretty decent and it will likely make over a billions. Stop assigning things to people you know nothing about through their haters narratives

It was such a butchering and abomination of a movie. People like you is why the English speaking IQ is tumbling off a cliff. Entertained by literally anything.

@Another_Random_Individual he uses a lot of practical effects. To the point of creating the whirlpool and mixing it together. I applaud that, the story still feels small to me. It’s not a real story. It’s an old tale. It should be grand and loud in its appearance. That’s just my opinion.

Things doofuses with zero critical thinking say.

Do you know why it was a great movie experience? Because you saw it in a cinema the way it was meant to be but Drinker here, watched on a computer. like he does most movies. This jackass watches prated cam rips of movies he reviews. This is not an accusation. Drinker himself has proven it many times.

Doofuses with zero critical thinking do think that.

To children and doofuses.

@Batmanrocks-i5x Nice made up story.

@Batmanrocks-i5x Stop lying.

@eddiek8179 Telling the truth. Lmao read the Greek version. Better yet read the liberal modern translation by Emily Wilson who also disliked the film. And in saying that I still gave the film a 6/10. Lmao

@eddiek8179 you sound like a joy. Lmao

@Batmanrocks-i5x All that bluster does not shroud your lies. If you actually knew the story and the history, you'd be singing a different tune. Your choice of the word 'liberal' reveals your real narrative here especially because that word has no relevance in this at all.

What about Rogue Elements?

Saw it 4 times lol
My local IMAX extended it's run until November.
Enjoy your cope 😂

Worlds most overrated culture warrior.
ZERO impact on the industry 😂

@TheAlmostAmazingSpidermanI'm not bothered. If you liked it, good for you. I'll stick to better epics, this was just average. And the critical drinker agrees 😊

Yeah, that “proof of concept” completely destroyed any shred of credibility in my eyes.

He's wrong about alot.

So you haven’t watched it?

@eddiek8179 Maybe that explains why Drinker gets numerous details wrong in his reviews.

@eddiek8179it wasnt a great movie though. It was objectively not great. I personally thought it was shit but to say it was fantastic or a masterpiece is total drivel.

Lol anti-woke

@asdf1991asdf "Anti-woke" is a completely negative thing. Being "anti-woke" means you're a bad person.

@fluffernutter6633lol keep telling repeating the lies you need to tell yourself in order to sleep at night. You lefties love to lie.

@asdf1991asdf All you've done is reveal yourself to have shit taste in movies. Objectively? Really? Did I say it was fantastic or masterpiece? Why are you getting so triggered that people enjoyed it? To say it was shit is total drivel - in fact, your whole post is. Stop simping for the Drinker. In fact, tell me why you think it was shit - can you articulate why it was bad?

excellent tech, bad writing

Haha, amazing that a man with so little talent loves ripping other apart.

If he had the backing of these studios, it would be a different story. He was dealing with amateur everything including his own experience

@eddiek8179triggered? Bwahahahah

@ChrisetsLove1981 cope

@TertulianoAntiescépticos and I’m sure Critical Drinker cares about your opinion
