Does the continuing tension between Iran and Arab states strengthen Israel’s strategic position?

To some extent, yes.

When Iran and Arab countries perceive each other as major threats, the Muslim world becomes more divided. Arab attention shifts from Palestine toward national security, oil installations and regional defence.

Iran’s regional network also faces greater Arab opposition, while some Arab governments may move closer to the United States—and indirectly to Israel—for protection and intelligence cooperation.

However, it would be incorrect to claim that Israel created every Iran–Arab dispute. These rivalries also arise from historical disagreements, competing security interests and regional ambitions.

Israel benefits most from limited and divided regional tension—not necessarily from a major war that could destabilise the entire Middle East.
