Snyder movies are not good movies. Supergirl didn’t land. Maybe because it was the wrong move. Maybe it was the dramatic changes from the comic. Maybe because it the audacity for the second movie to be about a female heroine….. I think it was a mix of many things. I think the fact the film was a meditation on grief was lost on people, sure there are some technical problems. Editing could have been different… it could have been lighter in some places. But it was honestly not a bad movie, and arguably better than several of the more recent marvel film of the last few years. It did not deserve all the hate.

That being said Superman was a good film. There are a few things that could have been better, but overall it was a great experience and a good film. Primarily because it understood Superman. The movie was a success, especially relative to what was done to DC by the Snyder-verse. Which was dour and disliked.

Lanterns is just good. It is well received, a hit for HBO and fun/exciting/mysterious. Audiences and critics agree.

Snyder movies are just simply not that good. MOS is the best of the 3 and it is depressing. As much as I love Cavil as Superman, it is just too depressing and he is not the Superman of the comics, he is the Snyder stylized version, without much depth. He isn’t the version who would save a squirrel. The world is grey-washed and depressing. Amy Adams was not the best choice for LL, and the death of JK was a terrible plait point. It was antithetical to the tone of who Superman is.

So this video is asinine. Did Snyder cast for looks and make a good looking film, sure. As long as the grey scale doesn’t get to you. Was a joyful? Nope. Maybe there was a moment but it wasn’t fun. Neither was BVS with a murderous Batman…. And Justice League was just simply not good.

Snyder fundamentally does not understand what these characters represent. And I would argue the video author does not either…

That’s so objectively false. Snyder wrote and directed bad movies. In Zach Snyder entire career he has two good films. Dawn of the dead and 300. James Gunn has slither which is a cult classic horror movie that’s a completely original idea, super which is the same deal. Lots of people consider the gotg triilogy one of the best trilogies of all time. Zach Snyder has more horrifically bad movies the James Gunn has total movies. His only two good movies are a movie based on a book based on true events, and a remake of a 70’s zombie flick. It’s okay to admit you have bad taste in art.
