This Movie taught a whole generation about being institutionalized, what it means, and what really happens to a person when they go to prison. This movie was at the top of the list for movies of its kind that thrived in the 80’s and 90’s. The type of movie that made all its profit on vhs, DVD sales and rentals. We didn’t know that in 10yrs we would not be renting movies anymore. And movies like this would not be made anymore. Because $300 million dollar budgets movies are at the top of the list for production. It’s the only way to get people to theaters so the studios make a profit! And guys who made movies like this are making shows for streaming platforms.

I did 13 calendars small stretch. This shits real. It gets a bit violent sometimes. But there's a level of comradorie that I haven't seen here in the "free" world. I keep hearing convicts and ex military guys deal with this same thing. Just can't seem to fit this mold of society. Gets scary sometimes

The thing is that back then having a theater experience at home required to actually build a theater in your home. These days you can have that for only a few thousands. Goin to the movies for a movie like this one is an absolute waste of time. Theaters are only good anymore for blockbusters that can make use of the bigger screens, sound and extra gimmicks that theaters provide.
