Watch brave heart

Have you watch Event Horizon yet? 😱

I also love the horror/sci-fi mishmash

Jeff golblum!
Oh wait might be a different fly movie 😅

Love the fact that you cherish PHYSICAL media, Ames. Streaming is wonderfully convenient, but actually owning movies is unparalleled. 😊

I like Jeff Goldblum! I cannot wait to see you react to his film Ames! :)

I hope this is not the original...it was very slow..there is a sequel tothis one from 1989??

You should see the original 1958 version of “The Fly.” Vincent Price was in that. That was another awesome movie.

To this day (I'm 52) I look away when the larva scene is coming up. 😬 It's that and the floating head in Jaws 😮 no thx, absolutely not

I love that you watch on physical media, so many of the others just stream. It makes no difference to your final video once you've shrunk the image and maybe even put a watermark on it, but we know there's heart behind it.

Can't wait for this one. Sure to draw a strong reaction

@holddowna Ames ! please.. you need to do a "proper Fly experience" .. There were 3 made in the 50s.. you'd go gagga and get to see montreal before 1960. Then go full Goldblum.

This, John Carpenter’s The Thing & Chuck Russell’s The Blob are some of my fav sci-fi horror / body horror movies ever! The practical effects in those movies are insanely cool & still hold up, imo.

❤❤❤❤

One of Goldblum’s best roles!

@Ames Look forward to when this gets on youtube :). Treat yourself i love you are smart and buying physical media so you can watch what YOU want 24/7/365

Another great movie. Looking forward to this reaction. I know you will love it.

Can't wait 👍

Be afraid 😨

Sci-Fly Rom Com Body Horror!

There's no way you're "going in blind" to _The Fly._ Its cultural influence is so broad, it got a segment on a The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episode.

Beautiful Ames, after you watch this one, watch the original. I am sure you will like them both.

Are you bringing back Mel for more scary reactions?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh mama

Some of the old Bela Lugosi Dracula films are great. Later, Christopher Lee played a great Count Dracula in colorized movies. 1950s and 60s Sci-Fi horror scene was great and some were done in 3D, where you needed the glasses.

I know that you would have loved this film, Ames, I can't wait to see your reaction to it. 🙂

Horror + sci fi you say? Two words for you Ames: Event Horizon

Life uh... "flies" away...

🪰

One magic word:
Cheeseburger! :D

Produced by Mel Brooks for his BrooksFilms company. Mel was pretty hip in giving up-and-coming filmmakers a chance

Bring a barf bag lol

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

It's a hell of a movie!
The fingernails... 🤮

The Fly is surprisingly deep for a horror movie. Goldbloom really sold it.
Your personality is a 10/10 by the way. It’s genuinely great watching you react to awesome movies.

If you want to check out a genuinely good horror/sci-fi movie, watch Sunshine.

Sadly: I loathe "horror" and ...while I respect his craftsmanship [O.K. I mean: A Dangerous Method–masterwork! [Mortensen/Fassbinder – THAT pairing ALONE!!!—Whew! masterful!];
The Dead Zone (of course!);
Dead Ringers (sure: Jeremy Irons is crazy-good); A History Of Violence (possibly one of his LEAST-violent films (despite the title!). Viggo gives yet another master-class [although, for me: NOTHING will EVER top his performance in: The Indian Runner **BOOM!**]); Spider —These I would watch and rate HIGHLY!!];
I, generally, despise (, or at least: dislike powerfully) David Cronenberg
(and that DOESN'T reflect on Canadians OR Canada — MAX WEBSTER RULES !!!!! \m/ \m/) and his movies. "Body horror" is not an viable, or acceptable ..."thing." ... I cannot go into thisthese too deeply as will end up, unintentionally, insulting, or cursing you – which I *never* wish, nor intend, to do! No.).

So: I will be avoiding "your favorites" (outright!).
I adore you and your passion and astute analysis and understandings ...but: I, fully and completely LOATHE what you have, just, stated that: you love. **shrug** I can't help that (and never wish to!).

Peach, musk and candledust. :-P
\m/ \m/

Looking forward to this! It's a masterpiece.

Hey you! No one does body horror like Cronenberg. Great movie, probably one of the saddest and most tragic endings in horror. I give Geena Davis the blue ribbon for her performance!

The 1958 version with Vincent Price is still my favorite.

Please watch THE HIDDEN from 1987 aliens, practical effects, car chases, drama, overlooked classic movie . Thanks Ames love your channel

What you say! Keep it clean Ames! 😂 John carpenter keeps that crown for me at least!

Love this film...
The practical effects are just Amazing

Be afraid, be very afraid...of.... "CHEESEBURGERS" XD

Such a good movie

Saw in the theater! Excellent movie

Simultaneously one of the nastier and sadder sci-fi flicks of them all. My favorite Jeff Goldblum performance. The end destroyed me the first time, and still hits hard.

videodrome

BRUNDLEFLY

This movie actually depresses me more than it scares me, lol. It's a classic and I do enjoy it, but I always feel worse for an hour or two after watching it 😅

The fly ll is an under rated sequel . I mean Jeff and Gina are not in it but thier baby is 🪰

Cronenberg has always had a particular ’gift’ for body horror or making anything biological look horrifying. I think Existenz was one of his best for that. 😂

There's a special place in hell for movie reactors who put the jump scare or monster in the THUMBNAIL. People... that is a FORCED SPOILER with no click. Please STOP.

Get ready!! 😊

Im 💯 with you.. practical effects is always king in my book and I love Sci-fi, horror, and sword and sorcery! I havent met anyone else who loves B movies, and 50s Sci-fi horror though.
Side note...Jeff Goldblum freaken rocks

Hopefully you don't run into faulty discs. I have a big physical media collection and rip them right away so that I know during the return window so I can exchange the defective movie or series.

Have you considered Species? That’s a crazy horror sci fi film. Might make a good video.

lol, oh this is going to be a fun watch. Seriously, call me out for laughing my ass off at people getting sick over this movie.

Nothing beats B horror movies , it’s good to laugh at like Basket Case and The Mad Butcher 😅😅

Such an amazing and tragic love story with truly legendary effects.

Since you’re a bit of Cronenberg fan, might I recommend “Dead Ringers” with Jeremy Irons playing twin gynecologist serial killers. Holy fuk ballz! Perfect Halloween fodder. Quirky creepy Cronenberg Horror/Suspense at its very finest.

Oscar winner for make up

Wow. I love that you are watching these movies cold. Too many reactors get on IMDB or Wikipedia or look at other reviews and already know what to expect. That's not how we experienced movies in the 80s. These days Im trying to not look at reviews or even full trailers anymore because people think the only way to review a film is to spoil it, and distribution companies think the only way to promote a film is to spoil it. I just want to walk in cold and be surprised.

Great choice. You should react to Trainspotting (1996). Certainly not horror/sci-fi, but s great movie for you to react. Sure you'll enjoy it.

Dude... I'm 44 now.... As a kid in the 80s I saw all those.badass movies...

I hope you have a strong stomach. I am not a fan of David Cronenberg's scifi body horror. But I do love his crime dramas. A History of Violence and Eastern Promises. Which are his only ones unfortunately.

Some of Jeff Goldblum's best work. ❤

I just know you'll love this
One of Cronenberg's best , this really helped to put the Canadian Horror legend on the map .
Jeff Goldblum gives an awesome
performance
The80's were a golden era for practical effects

And this won a well deserved Oscar for Best Make up effects that year

I 'm so looking forward to this
Cheers Ames
The spooky season is upon us .🎃🧟

Mmmm donuts

You are Canadian!!!!!!

Solaris .... I've only seen the modern adaptation. Is it horror?
