I remember before when it was Yugoslavia and it had a dictator that held it together through force.

Then when it broke apart and there wasn’t a strong dictator to hold it together anymore the killings started.

Small at first, then it got bigger and worse until all sides were rampaging around killing and killing and more killing.

For those who think it was about religion you don’t know your history.

The various peoples of the former Yugoslavia had been going at each other for centuries.

First under the Ottoman Turks then a short reprieve while Yugoslavia existed, then again when it fell apart.

It was all senseless and stupid.

It reminded me of the troubles in Northern Ireland

Very good movie. I worked with men who had fled that war, so that they wouldn't have to shoot each other. They worked hard, thy were reliable, they learned the language quickly and they integrated completely but nonetheless they were forced to go back while their home region was still highly dangerous for them and their families.😢
