I enjoyed true detective but I didn't think it was worth the hype. It's just HBO. Like an avg HBO series. Like 6' under. It's not the Wire or early game of thrones.
But Band of Brothers is one of the best series ever made. That's made some of the toughest sons of bitches on Earth cry.

You’re crazy the 1st season of true det crime is some of the best stuff out on film ever. The acting is incredible by the whole cast. Some top all time ever performances by wordy and Matt. The pacing is masterclass. Constantly building tension. It’s fully sticks the landing and tells a much deeper story than just the murders about really life relationships depression alcoholism. We addiction. Corruption etc.
Not to mention it has some of the best filming locations set design and truly some of the best use of light and dark I have ever scene and it’s in my top 5 for overall cinematography. It truly looks beautiful and ugly(in a good way) throughout the whole season.
The other seasons are horrible to just under ok. lol.
But season 1 is a masterpiece and you should go watch it again if it’s been a while since you have seen it

I have always found tv series to be slow burning and repetitive! Film, in my opinion are really a visual experience and work of art. I do agree, in the modern instant gratification era we all now live in, no one has the time or mental conditioning to commit to watching something for 40+ hours!

True unless they stretch 2 hours worth of story into 10 episodes. And also, the limited series, I think, paved the way for TV shows feeling like it's okay to put out six to ten 24 minute episodes per year.
