Star wars was cooked for a long time and now it's in a state where a return to the big screen was impossible or very unlikely. They picked literally the worst way to continue the saga, cant disney see both the general audience and fans dislike the sequels? Theyre not even critically acclaimed, just start over with a retcon or an old republic setting...

Acting like man of steel or even Batman vs Superman are worse written movies than dark phoenix or fant4stic is insane

Fant4stic was made by the guy who did chronicle, an amazing movie and take on superheroes. MOS was written by the guy who did the dark knight trilogy and other movies, suicide squad was directed by the guy who did training day and started the fast and furious franchise. I think the studios are the bigger problem than anything. Fox, WB and marvel stick their noses in too much for superhero movies for some reason and I don’t know why

I saw dark pheonix for free cuz my bud worked at the theatre and I felt as if my time was wasted watching that movie.

Fant4stic wasn’t anybody’s fault tho. That shit was doomed from the beginning with a difficult-to-work-with hotshot director, a studio deadset on making every creative decision, AND a weak script. Sure it doesn’t help that Kinberg was involved, but that movie need a hell of a lot more than a better script.

Can’t stand star wars man. Used to love it. The legends stuff is so good and is just sitting there waiting for someone to make it a decent live action movie. So sad what Disney’s done to the title.

God I hate how much they bring up fan4stic as some awful movie. It’s bad but it’s not the worst. Not even close. You want bad? Go watch Kraven or Elektra. Same thing goes for when people claim Morbius or Madame web is bad. Like yall just haven’t seen all this shit because there’s much much worse

I know Kimberg doesn't have the best track record of super hero movies (althought he did the best X-Men movie of all time, Days of Future Past), but in the Star Wars universe he worked on one of the best shows, Rebels. So i think we should give this new trilogy at least a chance

Whoa whoa whoa, apocalypse is not a bad movie. If you disagree, you need to get high and rewatch it.

When magneto is launching endless cgi scrap at apocalypse at the end i was pissing myself laughing. It also had intense moments though, the kind you can only appreciate when you're so invested because of how stoned you are. I watched Fury the same way, and rewatches have never lived up to that OG experience.

I dont like Fan4stic either but i wouldnt say its the worst of super hero media. I actually like the first act that builds up Reed Richards as a character. Catwoman is probably the worst comic book movie, at least theatricaly released.

Director isn't an issue is story writing

but fan4stic was bad because the studio reshot and recut the movie together and also hired a writer and director combo who literally didn’t work together at all the director literally just wrote his own script like i don’t think you can do that

Yes, it is cooked. I know there’s still a group of people who will go and pay to watch these movies, but I’m honestly not sure how they’re going to get enough people interested that it’ll become profitable. Because for Star Wars, especially in 2026, the visuals/CGI/Special effects stuff all have to look flawless, meaning the budgets for these movies are going to be ridiculous.
