1943 में अश्लील, 1972 में कलात्मक—एक गीत की बदलती कहानी #movie #gana #bollywood

“Inhi Logon Ne Le Leena Dupatta Mera” became immortal and widely popular through Pakeezah (1972), with Meena Kumari on screen and Lata Mangeshkar’s voice. But the song had appeared much earlier—in Aabroo (1943), where actor Yakoob himself rendered and presented this unusual version.

Interestingly, the changing perception of the song tells us something about changing times. In 1943, Filmindia reportedly viewed such “kotha” songs and Aabroo through the moral standards of its time. Three decades later, the same traditional song became an acclaimed artistic presentation in Pakeezah. As times change, society’s perception of art changes too.
