DC's New Horror Movie Just Got an R Rating

DC just went full horror — and it is officially rated R. DC Studios' Clayface has been rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, language, some nudity, and brief drug use. Directed by James Watkins from a script by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film stars Tom Rhys Harries as the shape-shifting Batman villain, alongside Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan. Made on a $40 million budget, it hits theaters October 23, 2026, with early tracking pointing to a $20–$26 million opening weekend. James Gunn says DC had zero plans to make a Clayface movie at all — until Flanagan's script completely won them over. Are YOU brave enough to watch this in theaters?
