Is Rob Zombie’s 31 a good horror movie?

Not that great of a movie. Fan of his others but I like it enough I guess. You the best!!!!

The opening of the movie is perfect Halloween vibes but the rest is trash. Especially that ending with Aerosmith song is such cringe

I'd still like to see the Nc-17 cut

It's absolutely crap. Everything that's wrong about Rob Zombie's movies is cranked up 10 times worse in that film. It's not even a good Halloween movie either cuz it barely feels like the holiday, like I don't think you even see one Jack O'Lantern in it.

31 when I first watched enjoyed it. Rivhard Blake was pretty good in it an Sherri Moon was good as well. I think 31 was one of the more out there Zombie movies.

I liked it about as much as I liked The Lords Of Salem. Almost made it halfway through both films before turning them off

31 gave most of rob zombie's fans exactly what they wanted and that's all that matters. I hesitate to go into 'critic' mode and analyze 31 in detail because i'm a fan, not an arrogant elitist film critic who tells the public what they should see or not see. All that matters is that i like 31. But i will say that i like 31 alot, alot more than Obsession and Backrooms. Just my personal taste. In films, there are many elements that make up that film. Actors, director style, cinematography, story/concept, atmosphere and mood, pace, music, sound effects/sound design, running time, editing, make up/special effects. I would say that if i like at least 2 - 3 of those elements then that makes the movie worth watching. I don't have to love every element. Like in Escape From New York. For me, the atmosphere, music and concept carry the movie and that makes it worth watching despite any other elements in the movie.

I enjoy watching it, therefore I think it's a good movie.

Rob Zombie movies are either one of the greatest pieces of media to ever be created, or an absolute shit show that feels depressing to watch.

While I cannot comment on the overall quality of the film, I believe Doom-Head is one of the most compelling characters Rob Zombie has ever created; in my view, Richard Brake portrays him like the Joker, perhaps even with a greater level of insanity, if you can believe that.

the 'james gang' opening credit montage is awesome ... the 'aerosmith' denouement is fantastic ... unfortunately, not that much to recommend in between ... sorry, 'rob'.

It's a rough one to watch all at once. Lords of Salem is much better in my opinion.
