If the point of the movie was for me to utterly hate and despise the children, then the film did it's job. But I actually want likeable characters, even scumbags, and people you are suppose to hate. The lodge just pissed me off and made me think of a quote from Marilyn Manson

and I get no enjoyment watching Darwin awards [also known as too stupid to live] get them selves killed in a movie.
I feel like Shirley from a Christmas episode of Laverne and Shirley where they run into a mean kid bullying Santa Claus at the local mall and she tries to tell him "It's not nice to be mean at Santa" and he spits in her face before running off and she is furious and then she gains control of her self and goes "Sorry...I, I wanted to HIT that child....AND I STILL WANT TO HIT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!" I see this shit in real life all the time. Some idiot DIES because he was so delusional and idiotic and it's like "It's people like you who make me a misanthrope and hate humanity. Nobody should be DYING because they were too stupid." Like this one rapper from the 2010s. He was texting while driving under the influence and he texted "Drunk as fuck. Going 90 miles an hour, YOLO" and then he almost immediately smashed the car and died....ya, what a real fucking loss, uh??!?!?!?! A real credit to humanity. It's infuriating.
So sorry. I was too pissed off at the characters to actually like the movie. The kids are total fucking psychopaths to the max. The worse people imaginable and the father is an idiot too.
There are a few other films like this too where it's nothing but the worse people imaginable and it's not even fun to see them get killed off in the movie. As one film critic put it "and I just think 'you fucking deserve to die' because your a complete moron".
