Yes, I have watched "The Act" on Hulu several times and I'm still not mad at Gypsy Rose for unaliving her mom. She tried every single regular way to get her mom to see reason and nothing worked. I literally can't think of any other way she would have been able to get out and live a normal life. I know that people will say "Why are you condoning what she did?" If there was any other way, she would have done it differently, okay? There really was no other way.

Uhmmmmm Gypsy rose is a manipulative person 😆 she might’ve been through some stuff but she was fully capable of convincing her boyfriend to kill her mom. After he did it both of them had sex and he was still wearing the bloody clothes. And today even she’s pulling money from people who feel bad for her still even tho she did an awful thing cause of how bad her life was.

Narcissists can be depressed too. Doesn’t mean they aren’t narcissists. Depression doesn’t make you make others sick so they stay. The brother also wasn’t just depressed. He’s also a narcissist. A depressed one but a narcissist none of the less. Comorbidity disorders are a thing and happen often. And two things can be true at once. Anyone who intentionally makes someone else sick so they won’t leave or so they can gain attention from it is a narcissist, along with whatever else they have. Look up the criteria for depression. Nowhere in there is sabotaging ppl’s lives a criteria, sabotaging your own life sure but once you weaponized your mental illness to justify horrible actions that you know are wrong, it’s starts being narcissism.
From a clinical psychology major actively in counseling for multiple disorders including recurrent depression :)
