It all started with a contest. Someone said to Simpson, "Let's have a competition—whoever wins takes Martin's prize money." The kids were talking and used apples, oranges, and bananas to compete. Gordon saw everyone having fun and wanted to join in. He casually tossed an orange, but wouldn't you know it—the orange rolled right under the brake pedal. The driver stepped on the pedal, the orange got crushed, and juice sprayed into the driver's face. In just a few seconds the bus crashed through the guardrail and dropped straight into the sea. If you got stranded on a desert island, what do you think you'd survive on? Everyone inside was tense except Todd, holding his banana totally at ease. The driver tried to swim out through the window but got swept away by a big wave. Another wave slammed the bus against a reef, totally wrecking it. The kids swam hard and crawled up onto a lonely island. They all pinned every problem on Gordon. While everyone was arguing, Blake blew a horn to quiet them down. He urged them all to build a little nation of their own on the island, helping each other to survive. Blake handed out tasks: he and Butch were in charge of building a treehouse, and everyone else went to look for food. But after searching around, they only found some inedible plants. Then Gordon spoke up, saying the treehouse wasn't built well and night was coming soon—they needed to get a fire going fast. Gordon took off his glasses, trying to use the lens to start a fire. Everyone was starving. Then Elise remembered there was a box of snacks on the bus. Blake immediately dove into the water and reached the sunken bus. Just as he opened the door, ready to grab that box of snacks, the story hits a cliffhanger—is that box of snacks still in there or not?
