When I first started learning Arabic, I thought fluency was going to come from memorizing more.

More vocabulary.
More sarf tables.
More grammar rules.
More notes.

So I became really good at studying Arabic.

The problem?
I still couldn’t SPEAK Arabic.

Then I moved overseas and Arabic stopped being a subject.
It became survival.

Suddenly nobody cared how many charts I had memorized.
Nobody cared that I knew all the pronouns.

What mattered was whether I could actually open my mouth and use them.

And that’s when I discovered something every fluent speaker eventually learns:
Your brain knows Arabic very differently from your tongue.

You can recite something perfectly 100 times.

Then your teacher asks you one simple question and somehow:
هُنَّ becomes هُنْدَ 🤣

Every Arabic student knows this feeling.

You know it.
Your brain knows it.

Your tongue decides it’s going to freestyle.

The funny thing is this is actually what progress looks like.

Not sitting silently.
Not filling notebooks.
Not watching another YouTube video.

Speaking.
Making mistakes.
Getting corrected.
Laughing.
Speaking again.

This brother is doing exactly what most Arabic learners avoid:
Actually using the language.

And that’s why he’s getting better every week.

If you’ve been studying Arabic for months (or years) but still struggle to speak confidently...
