“After 17 Years in Egypt, Jacob Made One Final Request”

Journey into the final chapters of the Book of Genesis as we witness the extraordinary conclusion of Jacob and Joseph’s story — and the beginning of something far greater.

In Genesis 46–50, Jacob leaves Canaan and journeys to Egypt after discovering that his beloved son Joseph is still alive. At Beersheba, God speaks to Jacob and assures him: “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt… I will go down with you.”

What follows is a remarkable journey of faith, reunion, blessing, forgiveness, and legacy.

Jacob finally sees Joseph again after years of believing his son was dead. Joseph welcomes his father and family into Egypt, where Jacob’s household begins a new chapter in Goshen.

As Jacob’s life draws to an end, he blesses his sons and speaks prophetically over their future. Joseph, despite everything his brothers did to him, chooses forgiveness and reminds them that God’s purpose was greater than their actions.

Genesis closes with Joseph’s final words and a promise that God will one day visit His people and bring them out of Egypt.

This is more than the ending of Joseph’s story.

It is the beginning of the story of a people.

From Jacob’s journey to Egypt…
From Joseph’s suffering to forgiveness…
From a family seeking refuge to the beginning of Israel’s story…

God was working through every chapter.
