Up here in a Canada we have marked and unmarked crosswalks too. Marked has painted stripes, signs, or even their own flashing lights. Unmarked two curbs perpendicular to a street. They are rarely used or responded to properly, but theoretically you’re supposed to yield to a pedestrian standing at the curb on one side of the street and allow them to cross to the other side with a dropped curb/sidewalk.
