I Almost Changed Nationality After Trying Arab Food in Lagos! ππ¦πͺ
Welcome to Episode 1 of Trying Food From Every Continent with Risky β Nigeriaβs most brutal food taster! ππ₯
For this episode, I took my home girl out for a proper food experience at Yasmine Al Sham, an Arabian restaurant tucked inside La Chaumière in Victoria Island, Lagos.
And honestlyβ¦ I wasnβt expecting to enjoy the experience this much.
From the Arabian-inspired ambience and the traditional outfits they gave us to the food, customer service, portions and ridiculously fast wait time, this restaurant gave us a completely different experience from your usual Lagos food spot.
We tried the Albasha Set, which came with sautΓ©ed chicken, onions, bell peppers, squash and mushrooms, alongside feta cheese salad, pita bread, rice and hummus. We also tried their kebab and other hot and cold appetisers.
Was everything amazing? No.
Some of the dishes were quite plain for my Nigerian taste buds, but the flavours were still very approachable, especially if youβre trying Arab cuisine for the first time.
And that kebab? π₯π₯π₯
The pita bread also deserves its own conversation because that thing came ready to challenge Agege bread! π
One thing that surprised me was the culture around smoking β people smoke quite a lot, although the restaurant does not sell or serve alcohol.
