POV:She’s Absolutely Obsessed With Nana.

Plot:George, unhappy that his mother Mary was seeing Fred, insisted on forbidding his daughter Xixi from seeing her grandmother. But Xixi was particularly fond of her grandmother Mary and completely ignored her father’s orders. Mandy and the rest of the family all sided with Mary, frequently sneaking Xixi off to see her grandmother behind George’s back. The whole family joined forces to “go against” George. George’s attempts at control failed time and again, and the conflict between mother and son continued to escalate. The granddaughter’s natural affection for her grandmother, combined with the family’s support in defiance of George, led to a series of absurd and hilarious family farces. Meanwhile, Connor got into trouble and turned to George for help.

My brother used his kids against my mom a few times. When they finally needed a break they would bring them back.
One time it lasted more than a week. My mom was so mad that my stepdad went to their house, put the kids in the car, told my sister-in-law my brother could talk to him but that was enough.
My brother didn't come to get them until the next day.

I understand cutting toxic family members off but you need to think of the kids too first when you decide you don't want someone in their life simply because you can't respect the life choices your parents make and are being petty rather then putting your child first. And I say that as someone who has gone no contact with my own in laws because of the way they treated myself, my husband and started treating my kids too. When they started trying to get my kids taken away from me because I didn't want them telling my kids to keep things from me and being violent in front of them, then there was no coming back from that. Mary isn't perfect but she loves her kids and her grandkids and puts them first but Georgie can't expect her to do everything he wants and agrees with with her own personal life. She isn't doing anything he doesn't approve of around his daughter so it's just a control thing. I could see him saying Fred can't be around CeeCee but not saying Mary can't ever be even at church and bible study

Honestly? Connor doing something illegal that he got arrested is kinda a relief, when you think about how sad his life seems like. Finally acting like a reckless, young adult and not some overdramatic, 3rd class musician. And what the hell is going on this time between Georgie and Mary? What could it be, that Georgie is so wrong, that even Audrey thinks, Mary is right? You know, everyone's piling on him about Connor but the fact is that all of them went against his wishes about his daughter. I remember what happened here. Mary started dating Fagenbacher. You know, the guy trying to run her son out of business? Mary was incredibly selfish. That's why Georgie refused to let CeeCee see Mary. And every one of them brought CeeCee over to Mary anyway. I don't care that he kept Connor's secret. They all betrayed him when they did that.

Are you talking about Georgie or CeeCee? Because from where I'm standing that's EXACTLY what Mary did to Georgie. She started dating Fagenbacher. You know, the man trying to run her son out of business? She fell for Fred's lies and asked him out to spite her own son. Do you honestly think that wasn't traumatic for Georgie, having his own mother choose her personal wants over him? And as for separation in the family, I don't see Mary saying no when everyone brought CeeCee over or telling Georgie that they were doing it. Mary did that for her own selfish wants. Again. And now all of the people who betrayed Georgie are gaslighting him because he kept the fact that Connor got arrested a secret. He was literally being loyal to one of their family members while they all betrayed him. And honestly, Connor is an adult. If he doesn't want his family to know, he has that right. I also don't see any of them berating Connor for what happened. They go straight to reaming out Georgie. The amount of abuse that Georgie suffers from both families is off-the-charts. He tries so hard to do everything right (getting a job, buying his father-in-law's business so it doesn't go bankrupt, saving everyone's butts) and they all pile on him here. Georgie deserved far better than what they did.
