HUNTR/X was conceived as the in-universe girl group for the animated feature K-pop: Demon Hunters, produced by Sony Pictures Animation. Rather than casting established K-pop idols to track the vocals, the production enlisted independent Korean-American musicians EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI. Performing 'Golden' live at the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, the trio proved that the project was defined by genuine vocal musicianship rather than digital studio polish.

Didn’t Ejae train at SM for years? Many talented singers do not debut with a group or get their chance as a solo artist. Glad she finally got hers.
