Tragically, I have never watched the movie 🎬 or read the book 📖 Jurassic Park.

I recently read The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. It's a very good book. I cannot say that I enjoyed reading most of this book, but it's definitely a book worth reading.

I'm currently reading The Sunlit 🌞 Man by Brandon Sanderson along with Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan. At this point I'm having a little bit of a hard time getting into the Sunlit Man. I'm very much enjoying Dolly All the Time.

I saw it in the theater when I was a kid. It was the biggest movie of the summer. I remember there was a line outside the theater.

Sam, you describe so well how enjoyable reading a book can be when you already know the basic plot. I think too much is made of avoiding spoilers. Knowing an outline plot doesn't spoil the pleasures of a good movie or good book. Story goes that Spielberg discovered the young child actor and was so taken by him that he gender-reversed the kids from the book, making it an older sister and little brother.

The Need for Speed, the first one, had a lot filmed in Georgia--very recognizable parts of downtown Macon, then the big stunt on the bridge over the Chattahoochee River from Alabama over to Columbus, Georgia.

Thank you! And I find that too be true with lots of books, like when I read Holes or A Man Called Ove after seeing both movies prior. Very interesting tidbit about the actors there, thanks for sharing !

I never thought that Jurassic Park was based on a book! Thank you so much for enlightening me about this fact, I enjoyed this video quite a lot. It was my favourite series of films throughout the teens and now I want to rewatch it too!

Hi Sam. My beef with the book vs. movie differences on Jurassic... was the omission of the aviary episode from the novel. It wasn't until the closing credits of the second film that we got even a glimpse of flying dinosaurs. I think this was due to budgetary constraints.

Oh for sure, I was waiting for that to happen in the movie. Glad we got a glimpse though eventually with the layer films

I read the book a few years ago3 or 4.
I found it an excellent read. I feel it is better than the movie but still liked the movie almost as much. I prefer the ending of the book to the movie. Wish they would have included that in the movie.

Agreed! I can’t pick which is better, the movie or book as a whole. I think they complement each other quite well. Thanks for being here ◡̈
