Context (Tafsir Ibn Kathir):
Allah honoured Adam with knowledge: He taught him the names of all things, then presented them to the angels and asked them to tell their names.
The angels answered with humility: glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Ibn Kathir notes this shows Adam's virtue of knowledge over the angels.
