You’ll often see ـي attached to the end of Arabic nouns.

It gives the meaning “my.”

كِتَابٌ → a book
كِتَابِي → my book

More examples:

بَيْتِي → my house
رَبِّي → my Lord
صَدِيقِي → my friend

So when you see ـي at the end of a noun, look for the meaning “my.”

This is especially useful to recognize when reading the Qur’an, where attached pronouns appear constantly.
