Wicker Is the Wildest New Movie Starring Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård #wicker #shorts

What if you could build your perfect husband… out of wicker? That is the bizarre and surprisingly intriguing premise behind Wicker, the upcoming Black Bear Pictures movie starring Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage and Elizabeth Debicki.

*Wicker* is one of the most unusual upcoming movies of 2026, and the premise alone is enough to make you stop scrolling. The film follows a lonely fisherwoman living in a conservative seaside village who decides that she wants a husband of her own. Instead of finding a traditional partner, she turns to a basketmaker, played by Peter Dinklage, and commissions him to construct a husband entirely out of wicker.

That wicker husband is played by Alexander Skarsgård, creating one of the strangest movie romances you are likely to see this year.

But *Wicker* isn't simply a movie about a woman falling in love with a wicker man. The story explores loneliness, love, social expectations, desire, jealousy and what it really means to create the person you want to love. As the unusual relationship develops, the wicker husband becomes increasingly important to the people around him, creating tension and chaos within the seaside community.

The cast is another major reason this movie has my attention. Olivia Colman leads the film, with Alexander Skarsgård playing the mysterious wicker husband and Peter Dinklage portraying the basketmaker responsible for creating him. Elizabeth Debicki is also part of the cast.

The movie comes from Black Bear Pictures and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where its strange concept and unconventional romance immediately made it a movie worth keeping an eye on.

In this YouTube Short, I'm breaking down the *Wicker* movie premise, the Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård casting, why Alexander Skarsgård is playing a man made of wicker, and why this could become one of the most unexpected movies of 2026.

If you love discovering unusual movies, upcoming movies, movie news, movie trailers, Hollywood casting news, A24-style indie films, bizarre movie premises, Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage, Elizabeth Debicki or Black Bear Pictures, this is definitely one to add to your watchlist.

*Wicker* is an upcoming Black Bear Pictures film that looks unlike almost anything else coming to theaters. Whether you think the premise sounds completely ridiculous or strangely brilliant, it is definitely the kind of movie that gets people talking.

And now I want to know what you think: Would you actually watch a movie where Olivia Colman falls in love with Alexander Skarsgård as a man made entirely out of wicker?

Let me know in the comments.
