A CRIME does not become less of a crime because the perpetrator shared your FAITH, YOUR COLOR or YOUR ENEMY. That is the moral cowardice Blood and Sand refuses. SOME AFRICAN RULERS and communities EMBRACED ISLAM for many reasons, including genuine belief, trade, diplomacy, political legitimacy and the LEGAL PROTECTION MUSLIM STATUS was supposed to give free people against enslavement. But CONVERSION was not some magical shield that made greed disappear. BLACK MUSLIMS were still kidnapped, misclassified, raided and sold badly enough that African scholars had to explicitly argue that Black Muslims could not lawfully be enslaved simply because they were Black. And the trap was even uglier for people already enslaved: CONVERSION AFTER ENSLAVEMENT DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESTORE THEIR FREEDOM. A captive could adopt the same faith as the master, pray toward the same holy city, recite the same creed and still remain SOMEBODY’S PROPERTY. That is why I have no patience for people who scream “BROTHERHOOD” as though religion automatically erased the SLAVE MARKET. Brotherhood means nothing when one brother can still buy, sell, inherit or exploit another. And the same standard applies everywhere: if an African ruler betrayed Africans, name him. If a European empire trafficked Africans, name it. If Arab merchants, raiders or Muslim-ruled states enslaved Africans, name them too. Your faith does not deserve more protection than YOUR ANCESTORS DESERVE TRUTH. Your skin color does not excuse betrayal. Your hatred of one oppressor does not turn another oppressor into a friend. If our liberation means anything, it must mean having the courage to condemn the chain no matter whose hand was holding it. #uyiosael
