Comparing the 2 film universes is completely unfair, they are fitting into completely different situations, the mcu was starting a completely new way of doing super hero movies with having them be connected that close, the new dcu is working with completely pre created characters and stories that have had movies made about them many times, even before henry cavil’s man of steel there were around 10 superman movies (give or take), the idea of an iron man or captain america movie were never even thought of existing, and the hulk only had 1 or 2 movies before the mcu hulk and they were mostly flops no?

Superman is like the first superhero movie to actually be about something related to the real world, most other superhero films have zero meaning or point beyond extra little bits that don't really matter and aren't the thesis of the movie (I would say Spiderman BND is the only other non animated superhero movie to do this with its themes of isolation and loneliness, but superman did it first)

Iron man ... is close in quality ... but man, the messages of Superman in the climate that it was released AND they really got his character right with just enough ties to other "properties" within DC to feel like a connected verse - Superman definitely takes it.
like Ironman had the right amount of boldness and heart but the messages of that film and when it was released felt more like "reject corporate evils" whilst Superman basically is more " don't lose yourself to the corporate greed we live in and keep doing you and show kindness while being strong" - like more Strength does not equal ruthlessness in a world where the everyday is ruthless to no end. Ironman came out in a climate where we were on "equal footing" with evil/selfishness and superman came out in a climate where we were beaten to our knees by it....

Iroman established a formula for superhero films that would last over a decade. Superman while enjoyable doesn’t do anything we’ve not seen.

I reckon DCU will age waaaaaaay better than MCU. It's already at the point when there's too much trash to get through in order to get any payoff with the MCU where as DCU, you get the instant satisfaction of watching a stand alone neatly packaged well made film. I'd take that any day over the same old reheated formula marvel are doing
