A very well cast film, Carry would have been good probably, but he doesn't seem to have that dark side you need for Edward Scissor hands

You know, I think Vincent Price would be amused to know his final scene was literally his character's death scene.

I liked that movie. The best role Vincent Price ever played was Ming the Merciless. That movie was cool just because he was in it. Queen doing the whole soundtrack didn't hurt at all.

Oldman was offered the part, but he declined because he didn't quite understand the premise. Once he saw it in the theater, everything clicked. He doesn't regret the decision, only not comprehending.

Love this movie...have watched it countless times. I was lucky enough to see Edward Scissorhands the stage (all dance...no dialog ) production at the Fifth Avenue Theater in Seattle. I am so familiar with the movie version and thought the interpretive dance along with the unique and innovative, yet simple, staging was exceptionally well done. Though there's no dialog, I vaguely recall that there was a single scream (when the daughter finds Edward sleeping in her bed???).
Of the nearly 10 years of season tickets for the Fifth Avenue Theater, Edward Scissorhands was among my top 5 favorite shows. It's a shame it didn't get the hype and high reviews that I think it deserved. I did just research and found out there is a video version of the stage/dance show that I will have to find and watch.
